We are now looking for a Project Planner to work for the INTERACT project at the Thule Institute, university of Oulu.

Thule Institute is the strategic coordination unit of Arctic issues in the University of Oulu, and it works in close cooperation with focus institutes and faculties. It supports and implements the Arctic Attitude and strategy of the University. Thule Institute supports Arctic research and multidisciplinary collaboration of all the focus areas of the University.

Description of the position:

Project Planner will assist in the coordination activities of the Transnational Access work package of the EU-H2020 funded INTERACT project (International Network on Terrestrial Research and Monitoring in the Arctic). https://eu-interact.org/accessing-the-arctic/

The main tasks are:

• Assisting in the coordination and reporting activities in the Transnational Access work package
• Communication and information flow with project partners, researchers and other stakeholder groups.
• Compiling and preparing reports and other written materials
• Website and social media updates related to the Transnational Access activity
• Meeting preparations, acting as the meeting secretary, writing of the meeting minutes

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree or equivalent in the field of natural sciences
• Fluent verbal and writing skills in English (the work is mainly conducted in English)

Will be considered as merits:

• Previous experience on EU-H2020 project coordination, administration or management
• Previous scientific background or experience on research coordination or administration
• Good organizational and communication skills, ability to work independently

What we offer:

• Full time position with working time 36,25 h per week for 9 months, beginning 1.4.2021 (or upon agreement) until end of December 2021.
• A salary in accordance with the Finnish universities salary system (for other personnel): level 8-9. In addition, a salary component based on personal work performance will be paid (maximum of 50% of the job-specific component). Typical starting salary for a Project Planner is approx. 2700-3000€ per month (before taxes). A trial period of 4 months is applied in the position.
