Senior Lecturer, Social and Public Policy, for a fixed term period from 1 January 2019 until 31 December 2023.
Specialized in research on social, political and cultural transformations, the Department of Social Sciences and Philosophy is one of the leading units in the field of social sciences in Finland. The vacant is allocated to the Department of Social Sciences and Philosophy. The Department operates at all degree levels of university teaching and has its particular strengths in doctoral studies. It houses the disciplines of Sociology, Social and public policy, Gender studies, Social work, Political science, and Philosophy. In addition to this, Master’s degrees are also completed in the programmes in Development and International Cooperation, Expertise in Civic Society, and Cultural Policy.
In the task of Senior Lecturer teaching and supervising on bachelor’s and master’s programmes as well as administration at Department and Faculty level is emphasized. The Senior Lecturer is expected to conduct her own research and apply research funding actively. Her research interests are expected to lie in the research focus areas of the Department of Social Sciences and Philosophy, especially in Social and public policy.

Senior Lecturer is required a full command of the teaching language, Finnish. When considered appropriate the university may grant exemption from the language proficiency requirements. Ability to teach in English is regarded as a merit.
Senior lecturers job-specific salary component is based on the job demands level 5-7 according to the salary system concerning teaching and research personnel at universities (2893,95- 3889,84 €/month). In addition, a personal performance-based salary component amounting to the maximum of 46,3% of the job-specific salary component is also paid.
A trial period of six months will be used when the position is first filled.
