The Department of Psychology is currently seeking to recruit staff to the position of Senior lecturer, Psychology from 1 January 2020 or as soon as possible there after for five years temporary position.
The position is linked to the department’s clinical psychology and psychotherapy research area.
The position is situated at the department of psychology and it is closely linked to the University’s core field of Learning, teaching and interaction as well as the upcoming University strategy that aims at creating competence and wellbeing for the individual. The senior lecturer is expected to strengthen the research profile of the Department of Psychology in the field of clinical psychology and psychotherapy, especially in research on interaction in psychological interventions. In addition, the lecturer is expected to conduct high quality research according to international standards and to contribute to research and teaching collaboration within the faculty of Education and Psychology and between the University’s different faculties.
The emphasis in the position is in teaching and research of clinical psychology and psychotherapy. The position is teaching based and the Senior Lecturer must especially contribute in development and implementation of professional expertise teaching. Furthermore, the applicant is expected to contribute to the development of research based psychotherapy training. The applicant is required to have knowledge of and experience in Finnish psychological professional practices and good co-operation skills. Senior lecturer supervises Bachelor’s and Master’s Theses and is expected to acquire supplementary funding for doctoral and post-doc researchers.
The duties, eligibility requirements and language skills are defined in the University of Jyväskylä Regulations and language skills guidelines. Proficiency in Finnish is required in the teaching and research positions of the University of Jyväskylä. However, when considered appropriate, the University may grant exemption from the language proficiency requirements.
The senior lecturer's job-specific salary component is based on the job demands levels 5-7 (2935,55 €/month - 3946,50 €/month) according to the salary system concerning teaching and research staff at universities. In addition, a personal performance-based salary component amounting to 6-50% of the job-specific salary component.
A trial period of six months will be used when the position is first filled.
