University of Eastern Finland is inviting applications for a Early Stage Researcher - motivated PhD candidate - to work in a project that focuses on the development of dendrimers as carriers of therapeutic DNA and RNA-based constructs in Kuopio. This project has potential for a wide scope of experimental work, starting from nanoparticle development to small animal studies for testing the constructs in vivo.The position will be filled from 1 June 2021 to 31 December 2022. Role and salary
As an Early Stage Researcher (PhD student) you will be working in the Molecular Medicine research group at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Kuopio Campus, Finland. This position is connected to Academy of Finland funded Flagship Gene, Cell and Nano Therapy Competence Cluster for the Treatment of Chronic Diseases (GeneCellNano https://www.genecellnano.fi/) and the ongoing research in the Molecular Medicine research group: https://sites.uef.fi/molecular-medicine/
The position will be filled for a fixed term from 1 June 2021 to 31 Dec 2022 or as agreed upon with the candidate. Early-stage researcher positions are always filled for a fixed term. A probationary period is applied to all new members of the staff.
The salary of the position is determined in accordance with the salary system of the Finnish universities. The salary comprises two components: a job requirement component and a personal performance component. In this position, the job requirement component is based on level 2-4 of the job requirement chart for teaching and research staff. The personal performance component can be between 6-50 % of the above-mentioned sum. The estimated monthly salary in the beginning of the employment will be 2202,97 - 3161,36 €. The salary of an early-stage researcher depends on the phase of the doctoral dissertation and postgraduate studies as well as personal performance.
