The University of Eastern Finland is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher position related to Small-scale wood combustion studies. The position is located at the Fine Particle and Aerosol Technology Laboratory, Department of Environmental and Biological Sciences, Kuopio Campus. Role and Salary
We are seeking for a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the EU Commission funded LIFE2020 Preparatory project ‘Harmonizing reliable test procedures representing real-LIFE air pollution from solid fuel heating appliances'.
The project develops advanced testing procedures for solid fuel heating appliances, which better reflect the quality and quantity of the real-life emissions, as well as the adverse effects to human health and environment. The project includes both literature review, well-defined combustion experiments with the partners from Germany, France, and Czech Republic and, communication and result dissemination with the authorities, agencies and other stakeholders. Project coordination tasks are included in the position.

The position will be filled for starting by agreement, at latest 1 September 2021 and ending to 30 April 2024.The job is a full-time position. The position will be filled for a fixed term due to it pertaining to a specific project (positions of postdoctoral researcher shall always be filled for a fixed term, UEF University Regulations, Section 31). A probationary period is applied to all new members of the staff.
The salary of the position is determined in accordance with the salary system of the Finnish universities. The salary comprises two components: a job requirement component and a personal performance component. In this position, the job requirement component is 3,000.49 euros/month, based on level 5 of the job requirement chart for teaching and research staff. The personal performance component can be a minimum of 6 % and a maximum of 50 % of the above-mentioned sum. The estimated salary in the beginning of the employment will be 3,303.00 – 3,663.00 €.
