A successful applicant will have a Ph.D in genetics, clinical medicine, bioinformatics, or statistics, and prior experience in genetics, clinical or epidemiological studies. The applicant should also have good knowledge in human biology, biochemistry, or metabolism. Based on the developments in genetics, we can now identify monogenic forms of diabetes and different subgroups of type 2 diabetes. This will open new possibilities for targeted therapies by identifying differential responses to therapies.
